Finding DOIs

DOIs or Digital Object Identifiers figure prominently in the 6th edition of the APA Style Manual.  DOIs are permanent links to published electronic journal articles. Finding DOIs may be somewhat challenging. 

The DOI may be included as part of the bibliographic record in a database, like CINAHL or MEDLINE.  Oftentimes, the DOI appears on the first page or title page of an article's full text.  When the DOI is neither in the database nor on the full-text article, you may use CrossRef to locate a DOI.
