The AAFCS is "the only national organization representing family and consumer sciences professionals across practice areas and content specializations." Presents news about issues, policy and legislation, info about grants, consumer education and publications, more.
Consumer Federation of America
An advocacy and education organization with about 285 members, providing information on its Website on a variety of issues, such as finance, food, healthcare, privacy, safety and the environment, and utilities. Many publications offered in .pdf format.
Consumer Product Safety Commission
U.S. Government agency charged with product oversight, safety guidelines, recalls, laws & legislation.
Consumer Reports Online
Most of their reports are only available to subscribers (for $24/year), but you can look at the index of topics rated in past years, and there is some useful information given for free. (Use the Journal Titles search in CLICsearch to find the St. Kate's subscription).
