Created by Matika Wilbur, Project 562 is a multi-year national photography project dedicated to photographing over 562 federally recognized tribes in The United States resulting in an unprecedented repository of imagery and oral histories that accurately portrays contemporary Native Americans. A National award program for Native artists funded by Eighth Generation, the first Native-owned wool blanket company founded by Louie Gong (Nooksack), and in partnership with the Evergreen State College Longhouse. This award helps emerging Native artists develop business infrastructure in order to aid their success in the mainstream market.
