Requesting St. Kate's Owned Items

Find the item you wish to request from the St. Kate's library and select "Request St. Kate's item." Click "Send Request"

Step 1: Select "Request St. Kate's item"

 

Step 2: The default for "Pickup Location" is set to "St. Kate's Library". If you need an alternate delivery solution, such as our pickup lockers or mail delivery service, please reply to the email you receive when your item is ready for pickup. Please note that our mail delivery service may take as long as 7-10 business days.

Step 3: Add an optional "Comment" and click "Send Request."

Step 4: You will receive an email from librarynotices@stkate.edu notifying you that your library item is ready for pickup.

Requesting Interlibrary Loan Physical Items

If St. Kate's doesn't own an item, select "Request via Interlibrary Loan" and click "Send Request." 

Step 1: Click on "Request via Interlibrary Loan."

Step 2: The default for "Pickup Location" is set to "St. Kate's Library". If you need an alternate delivery solution, such as our pickup lockers or mail delivery service, please reply to the email you receive when your item is ready for pickup. Please note that our mail delivery service may take as long as 7-10 business days.

Step 3: Check the copyright box.

Step 4: Click "Send Request"

 

 

Requesting a Digital Copy of a Article/Book Chapter

To request a digital PDF of an article/book chapter, regardless of who owns it, select "Request via Interlibrary Loan" and verify that the "Format type" radio button is selecting "Digital PDF (Article/Book Chapter)". Fill out additional information if necessary.

NOTE: Request one article or book chapter per form. If you need more than one article or chapter, you will need to complete the form for each item. Also, please note that we are unable to digitize entire books or journal issues due to copyright policy. 

Step 1: Select "Request via Interlibrary Loan":

Step 2: If you found the article from a database, your citation information will be auto-filled. Otherwise, fill out the Journal/Book title, Article/Book chapter title, Publication year and Pages. Then click the copyright box: 

Step 3: Click "Send Request": 

Step 4: You will receive an email from librarynotices@stkate.edu notifying you that your request item is ready for download or from Minitex Electronic Delivery (mtx-edel@umn.edu) that will have a link and pin for you to access your electronic material. 

Can't find an item?

If you can not find an item by searching in LibSeach, you can request either a physical item or electronic copy of an article/book chapter by using this form:

When would I use this form? 
Can I request a physical item or a digital PDF from this form? 

Yes, you can by choosing the correct format type (see previous instructions for detailed steps). 

Requesting a digital PDF of a single article/book chapter: 

NOTE: Request one article or book chapter per form. If you need more than one article or chapter, you will need to complete the form for each item. Also, please note that we are unable to digitize entire books or journal issues due to copyright policy. 

Step 1: Be sure the radio button on "Format type" is set to "Digital PDF (Article/Book Chapter)"

Step 2: Fill out the required fields: Journal/Book title, Article/Book chapter title, Publication year, Pages

NOTE:  The "Pickup Location" will be defaulted to "St. Kate's Library." This field is visible, but is not relevant for a digital scan request. 

Step 3: Check the copyright box: 

Step 4: Click "Send Request":

Step 5: You will receive an email from librarynotices@stkate.edu notifying you that your request item is ready for download or from Minitex Electronic Delivery (mtx-edel@umn.edu) that will have a link and pin for you to access your electronic material. 

Requesting a physical item (Book/DVD): 

Step 1: Be sure the radio button on "Format type" is set to "Physical Item (Book/DVD)"

Step 2: Fill out the required fields: Title, Publication year, ISBN (if not applicable put "NA"). 

NOTE:  The "Pickup Location" will be defaulted to "St. Kate's Library". If you need an alternate delivery solution, such as our pickup lockers or mail delivery service, please reply to the email you receive when your item is ready for pickup. Please note that our mail delivery service may take as long as 7-10 business days.

Step 3: Check the copyright box: 

Step 4: Click "Send Request":

Step 5: You will receive an email from librarynotices@stkate.edu notifying you that your library item is ready for pickup.
